Camera privacy

We operate our webcam in order to promote our restaurants, Pitlochry as a tourist destination generally, and to provide a live video feed of Pitlochry's high street for those interested. We do this by streaming live video onto this website for general public viewing. In the language of The Data Protection Act 2018 this constitutes a legitimate interest that justifies the data processing.

We have installed signage around Victoria's indicating that we operate this camera.

Our live video stream is distributed by IPcamlive and is subject to acceptance of their own terms of use and privacy policy.

Steps taken to avoid inapproriate processing of personal data

- Our camera broadcasts live to our website, but no footage is recorded or retained.
- Our camera does not capture any audio.
- The resolution of the broadcast is set low enough that individuals in shot should not be identifiable.

Your rights

You can request that we do not capture any footage of you in future. However, due to the nature of a public web camera, this may make this very difficult and it might not be possible for us to do this.
